Paul says to put on Christ, put on love, and don’t listen to wives’ tales, speculations, fables, and stories that don’t keep Christ at the center and acknowledge Him as the Head. I have to put this David Hogan quote in here, “Anything that impairs me from doing what we believe is the will of God is from the devil.” Paul vaccinates us for the religion virus, by telling us not to submit ourselves to rigid rules and legalism which has nothing to do with the freedom and gospel of Christ. “Do not touch, etc.” He admonishes us to stay connected to the Head, which will keep us from drifting off into la la land where we come up with weird revelations that have nothing to do with Him. Yes we DO need new revelation about God, but in a sense it’s not NEW because it’s revelation about a Person who’s already been revealed. The “new” revelation Paul is warning about is offshoots of esoteric knowledge that is supposedly for an elite few people. That kind of stuff is what sends people to a barn in Waco, TX following a leader who convinces them to drink Kool-Aid laced with poison.
