Divine Appointment in Oregon

As Doug, Daniel, Jarrod, and I were driving back to Redding from Washington today, the Lord set us up with a divine appointment.

We saw a sign that said "Heaven On Earth", so we took the exit and stopped. It was this rustic, down home kind of place and as soon as we walked in, we felt the atmosphere of peace, rest, and hospitality in there. Amazing place. It was a total God set up.

We met one of the hostesses, named Rose, and we started talking to her about God and told her that if there's anybody who needs healing in the restaurant, God'll heal 'em now, we'll pray for them. She was such a tendered-hearted lady who had worked there for 18 years for the owner...the whole establishment was birthed out of the owner (Christine Jackson) who had a dream to have a place where people could receive hospitality and refreshing. It's right off of I-5. Long story short, both Rose and Christine are sold out believers, and Christine was like a queen. We could see the authority and influence the Lord has given her over that whole region. She actually prophesied and prayed over us, and told us that we are 4 men of God who have what it takes. I can't even remember all of what she said, but she reminded me of Kathryn Kuhlman. And Nancy Anderson.

She commands a respect when you talk to her, but she is so humble too. While we were at the table, Rose came over to talk to us again, and I just knew that she was a writer and that she was to write a book. I told her that I feel like she's supposed to write a book. She was startled (in a good way), because that's exactly what she wants to do...her mission is to write the story of Christine's life. Wow. Amazing. She ended up telling us that she was also a songwriter, and we asked her to sing for us, which she did. She got her guitar out and went for it.

As if that wasn't enough, randomly, a lady who had green/blue hair walked over to our table (another guest at the restaurant) and asked us if we were Mormons. We said no, and she went back to her table. We were wondering why she asked us that? We thought maybe she was a Mormon. Daniel had been singing to Jesus right before she walked up, so maybe she thought we were Mormon because of that. Ends up that Daniel got a word for her. He saw a book with a chain wrapped around it, locking the book shut. Come to find out, when he went to talk to her, her and her husband or boyfriend were from San Francisco, and they had been up in Vancouver for a few days. Ends up that the reason the lady asked us if we were Mormon was because she had never seen young people with that kind of genuine joy before, and it touched her. Daniel gave her the word about the book, and she told him that she used to write, and even wrote an article for the New Yorker way back when but stopped writing. She was really touched! Yay God!

Compassion and Healing Meet in Panda

Here's a testimony of healing that happened last night. I was in Panda Express about to order food, and an elderly man with a walker came in, along with 2 other ladies.

I decided that after I got my food, I was going to ask if I could pray for him. So I did. He was very open, and he said yeah. Ends up that he has a pacemaker and that he's been fighting for his life during the past 3 months. I prayed for him briefly and released the presence of God on him, then opened my eyes and the 2 ladies were there all of a sudden. The man's name was Norm, and the 2 ladies were Lupe (his wife), and Tonia (his daughter). They're from Dunsmuir, near Mt. Shasta, and they had come down to Redding to take Norm to a doctor's appointment. They are definitely believers, and they said that it is prayer that has gotten them through the past 3 months. One of Norm's doctors told him that he gave up on him and that there's nothing else he can do. I could tell that Norm had lots of resilience though. They invited me to eat with them, so I sat down at their tables.

After some small talk, I felt the Holy Spirit touch my left thigh. So I asked Lupe if she had left leg pain by chance, and Tonia blurted out, "I do!" Come to find out, Tonia had been having pain in both her legs all afternoon, which was unusual for her. She looked shocked that I knew that she had that pain. So I told her to put her hands on the part of her legs where the pain is. She did, and I prayed for her. I released the presence of God and healing, and I asked her how she's feeling. She said, "It's gone!" Yay God. She was radiating!

Then Lupe said that she also experiences left thigh pain when she gets out of bed. So I had her put her hand on her thigh too, and prayed for her. She wasn't having pain at that moment, so she wasn't able to tell if she was healed or not. But she said she'll find out when she gets out of bed!

Then they told me how one of Norm's nurses was cutting his left big toenail recently and she nicked his toe...and so it hurts often. I laid my hand on his foot and prayed for him. I felt the love of God for them so strong. I know they felt loved too. In fact, while I was hunched over laying my hand on Norm's foot, he put his arm around me. I know he felt loved. It's so much better praying for people when you actually care about them and you're not just trying to get another healing. Man Lord I want to always move in compassion.

I asked Norm how his foot was, and he said good. I didn't even ask any more questions on how much pain went away, but it sounds like the Lord touched him!
