Divine Appointment in Oregon
As Doug, Daniel, Jarrod, and I were driving back to Redding from Washington today, the Lord set us up with a divine appointment.
We saw a sign that said "Heaven On Earth", so we took the exit and stopped. It was this rustic, down home kind of place and as soon as we walked in, we felt the atmosphere of peace, rest, and hospitality in there. Amazing place. It was a total God set up.
We met one of the hostesses, named Rose, and we started talking to her about God and told her that if there's anybody who needs healing in the restaurant, God'll heal 'em now, we'll pray for them. She was such a tendered-hearted lady who had worked there for 18 years for the owner...the whole establishment was birthed out of the owner (Christine Jackson) who had a dream to have a place where people could receive hospitality and refreshing. It's right off of I-5. Long story short, both Rose and Christine are sold out believers, and Christine was like a queen. We could see the authority and influence the Lord has given her over that whole region. She actually prophesied and prayed over us, and told us that we are 4 men of God who have what it takes. I can't even remember all of what she said, but she reminded me of Kathryn Kuhlman. And Nancy Anderson.
She commands a respect when you talk to her, but she is so humble too. While we were at the table, Rose came over to talk to us again, and I just knew that she was a writer and that she was to write a book. I told her that I feel like she's supposed to write a book. She was startled (in a good way), because that's exactly what she wants to do...her mission is to write the story of Christine's life. Wow. Amazing. She ended up telling us that she was also a songwriter, and we asked her to sing for us, which she did. She got her guitar out and went for it.
As if that wasn't enough, randomly, a lady who had green/blue hair walked over to our table (another guest at the restaurant) and asked us if we were Mormons. We said no, and she went back to her table. We were wondering why she asked us that? We thought maybe she was a Mormon. Daniel had been singing to Jesus right before she walked up, so maybe she thought we were Mormon because of that. Ends up that Daniel got a word for her. He saw a book with a chain wrapped around it, locking the book shut. Come to find out, when he went to talk to her, her and her husband or boyfriend were from San Francisco, and they had been up in Vancouver for a few days. Ends up that the reason the lady asked us if we were Mormon was because she had never seen young people with that kind of genuine joy before, and it touched her. Daniel gave her the word about the book, and she told him that she used to write, and even wrote an article for the New Yorker way back when but stopped writing. She was really touched! Yay God!
